Kirksey Croft practices commercial and business litigation.

Kirksey earned her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was named an International Law Scholar and served as the Institute for Professional Leadership's Hardwick Fellow. Kirksey served as a Teaching Assistant for advocacy courses, President of the International Law Students Association, and Outreach Chair of UT Pro Bono. In her final year, she conducted a formal research study for the University of Tennessee Appalachian Justice Research Institute. 

Kirksey worked year-round at a civil litigation firm throughout law school, alongside her coursework, and interned in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee. This work gave her hands-on litigation experience, from writing appellate briefs, researching complex commercial issues, to jury and bench trials. 

Before law school, Kirksey worked as a policy researcher for a national education curriculum company. She also worked for a global nonprofit providing humanitarian aid, work that led her to live in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico and Athens, Greece. 

Kirksey graduated summa cum laude from Maryville College with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and minors in Spanish, International Studies, and Gender and Women's Studies. As a Corella F. Bertram Bonner Scholar, she performed over 300 volunteer service hours each summer and each semester. She was also accepted into the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, the National Spanish Honor Society. Before graduation, Kirksey received the college's highest historic honor for outstanding character, citizenship, and service, the Maryville College Covenant Stone Award, and was inducted into the legacy of the Maryville College Covenant Stones.

After law school, Kirksey served as a judicial clerk for Judge David Briley in the First Circuit Court of Davidson County, working on civil and commercial matters.

A native of East Tennessee, Kirksey grew up in the Great Smoky Mountains. She enjoys participating in local organizations and is an active member of Nashville Lawyers’ Association for Women.
